Tony Yeboah's "Yegoala Hotel" Gutted By Fire

The conference room of the plush Yegoala Hotel in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, was gutted by fire on Friday.

The hotel, owned by football legend, Anthony Yeboah, is located at Nhyiaeso, a serene residential area in Ghana’s second largest city. What started the blaze in the conference room, which is located on the top floor of a two-storey building, is not yet known.

The fire just started with full force at about 4pm, eyewitnesses told Daily Guide

The inferno gutted electrical appliances such as projectors and furniture within some few minutes to the chagrin of people present. Luckily, the numerous rooms in the hotel where guests were lodging at the time of the incident were not affected.

The rooms are located in a different building from where the conference room is located.

Eyewitnesses said some people were seated at the ground floor when the fire started.

They said Anthony Yeboah was around when the incident occurred.

Fire fighters were called in but before they arrived the blaze had flattened everything at the top floor of the building.
