Manny Pacquiao Banned From Entering Los Angeles' Shopping Mall
Professional boxer-turned-Philippine politician Manny Pacquiao has been banned from entering Los Angeles' shopping mall The Grove yet again for his previous homophobic remarks.
As reported on PEP News, the mall's owner Rick Caruso announced the decision recently, saying that a lot of people from the gay community are frequent visitors of the mall, and have the right to feel uncomfortable. "[Therefore], Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome," he said. Last month, the boxer angered the LGBT community and its supporters over his statement that gay people are worse than animals. Although he later apologised, it seemed that the damage has already been done. But this isn't the first time Pacquiao was banned from The Grove. Back in 2012, he was banned from the mall for quoting the Leviticus passage that says homosexuals should be put to death. Caruso stated, "Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao, we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future. The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance."
