Public Relations Officer of Charterhouse, George Quaye has rendered an unqualified apology to filmmaker, Socrate Safo for engaging in a ‘verbal war’ with him and also revealing matters they had agreed not to let out during their meetings to resolve the differences between Shatta Wale and Charterhouse.
Reports suggest that there was a heated argument between Socrate Safo and George Quaye on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review last Thursday when the former questioned the latter over the ‘disqualification’ of Shatta Wale from the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Socrate, a member of Shatta Wale’s interim management team was unhappy that some issues they had discussed was brought to the public domain by George Quaye contrary to an earlier agreement.
According to Socrate, George Quaye painted a picture as if Shatta Wale and his management team were reluctant in making efforts to apologise for comments Shatta Wale made that the board deemed disrespectful, whereas they wanted to meet top officials of Charterhouse when they submitted the nomination forms. They were however told that the Chief Executive Officer, Iyiola Ayewode, was not in the country.
Speaking on the same platform on Saturday, George Quaye admitted that he erred in disclosing the reconciliation process and other things that were supposed to remain between the two parties.
“I didn’t intend I would go overboard so if i did, he should forgive me. Truly, some of the things I said, we had agreed that it would not be put at the public domain but under the circumstance, i was compelled to. it was wrong and unprofessional. I apologise to my big brother. Socrate, I’m sorry,” he said.
Shatta Wale was not nominated at this year’s VGMAs because he was not able to complete the process of officially apologising for maligning the board, officials have said.
Shatta Wale sometime ago tweeted he was auctioning his 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards plaques for two Ghana Cedis because he did not value it. this and many other actions by the artiste the board deem insulting.
