Opoku Ware SHS student stabbed to death
An eighteen-year-old Senior High School student of Opoku Ware Senior High School in the Ashanti Region was yesterday stabbed to death following a confrontation between two men over a lover.
The deceased, identified as Isaac Kwesi Amponsah, according to an eyewitness account, was trying to separate the two men who were fighting when one of them stabbed him in the process.
The two men, identified as Justice Abban and Frank Kwabena, aka Taller, 43, were fighting over a woman at Olebu in the Ga West Municipality.
Suspect Justice Abban, who allegedly pulled the knife to stab the schoolboy, according to the eyewitness account, was severely beaten by some neighbours before he was handed over to the police.
He is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital under heavy security.
The eyewitness indicated that the incident occurred around 7:30am yesterday morning.
The woman the two were allegedly fighting over is currently at large and is yet to be identified.
According to DAILY GUIDE’s source, the woman was in a relationship with Justice Abban for some years and they had a child.
Early this year, the woman allegedly travelled to her hometown and upon her return, broke up with Justice and decided to move in with suspect Frank Kwabena Owusu, her new lover.
This did not go down well with suspect Abban and so he often fought Frank over the issue.
Around 7am yesterday, suspect Justice Abban, armed with a knife, asked two of his friends—Samuel Offei aka Okotor, 42, and Solomon Agyeman, 43—to escort him to the house of Frank Owusu to attack him.
On arrival at suspect Frank’s house, the witness said, Frank was not in the house but he was called back to the house by suspect Abban.
Fight
When Frank returned, suspect Abban immediately picked a fight with him and so some neighbours, including Amponsah, a friend to Frank who lived with the mother behind Frank’s house, upon hearing the noise, came to separate the two rivals.
In the course of the separation, suspect Abban pulled the knife and stabbed Isaac Amponsah in the neck.
The witness said Isaac Amponsah, after the attack, attempted to run away from the scene but suspect Abban pursued him and stabbed him again in the middle of the street.
The victim then fell on the ground and died on the spot.
After committing the act, suspect Abban attempted to run away but residents chased and apprehended him. They then subjected him to severe beatings before handing him over to the police.
Later, personnel of the Police Crime Scene and the Amasaman District Police Command visited the scene to pick up the body of Isaac Amponsah to the Police Hospital morgue for preservation.
Arrest
The Amasaman District Crime Officer, DSP Happy Addai, when contacted, said police investigations led to the arrest of suspect Samuel Offei (Abban’s friend) and Frank Owusu, one of the rivals, to assist them to investigate the matter.
Concerning the woman, the Amasaman District Police Crime Officer said she was also on the run and had been declared wanted.
The matter is still under investigation.

Man Dies During Sex With Married Woman
IT was a show of shame when a married Ntabazinduna man was found dead in the matrimonial bed of another villager.
His adulterous girlfriend was then forced to guard the corpse the whole night as she feared alerting other villagers about what had transpired at her homestead.
However, she was left with no choice the following day except to let the cat out of the bag as she could not keep the corpse in her bedroom for long. The incident has since become the talk of the village.
“Mrs Mbele and Dlamini’s relationship had been unconfirmed rumours. Mr Mbele who works in Bulawayo got to hear about the news ans we suspect he fenced his wife resulting in Dlamini’s death, said a village source.
The source revealed events before the untimely death.
“Dlamini left his home pretending to be going to Bulawayo, but he proceeded to Mrs Mbele’s homestead where he spent a night. It seems he died during se_x as he was found dead on the couple’s bed the following day.”
It is said Mrs Mbele told neighbours about the incident in the morning and surprisingly Dlamini had died in her bed but raising a lot of unanswered questions.
“The woman was asked how the married man had got to her bedroom and she claimed he had come in the morning asking her to charge his phone,”said the source.
It is suspected that the now deceased was a victim of ulunyoka as he had a swollen stomach.
“The matter was reported to police and Dlamini’s wife was told the sad news. Dlamini’s body was ferried to hospital for post-mortem.
“He was buried on Sunday at his homestead and surprisingly, Mrs Mbele didn’t attend the burial. Only her husband did,” said the source.
Efforts to get a comment from Matabeleland North acting police spokesperson Sergeant Namativai Mashona were fruitless as he as said to be on leave.
When Mrs Mbele, the woman at the centre of the storm, was contacted for comment, she refused to say anything pertaining to the matter.

15 ways to guarantee you won't become a millionaire
We've cued you in on steps to take to get rich — but which choices will stunt your path to wealth?
Here, we rounded up habits, beliefs, and traits that self-made millionaires and authors have identified as inhibiting if you want to build wealth.
As always, no promises of future riches or predictions of the future, but steering clear of these 15 things can't hurt:
"I didn't buy my first luxury watch or car until my businesses and investments were producing multiple secure flows of income," writes self-made millionaire Grant Cardone at Entrepreneur. "I was still driving a Toyota Camry when I had become a millionaire. Be known for your work ethic, not the trinkets that you buy."
Start asking yourself, "Why not me?" he encourages. Next, start thinking big. Rich people set their expectations high. Why not $1 million?
"They develop multiple streams. Three seemed to be the magic number in my study ... Sixty-five percent had at least three streams of income that they created prior to making their first million dollars."
Examples of these additional streams are real-estate rentals, stock market investments, and part-ownership in a side business.
This choice is entirely up to you, emphasizes self-made millionaire Daniel Ally at Entrepreneur: "Often, people depend on their employers to buy them books, send them to seminars, or provide them with coaching. However, you must take your education into your own hands if you want to prosper. Invest in yourself."
Think of it this way: "If you wanted to become fit, you would hang around fit people at the gym. If you were interested in religion, you would associate more with people at church," he explains. "So if you want to become wealthy, get around other wealthy people and learn from them."
Here, we rounded up habits, beliefs, and traits that self-made millionaires and authors have identified as inhibiting if you want to build wealth.
As always, no promises of future riches or predictions of the future, but steering clear of these 15 things can't hurt:
1. Buying things you can't afford
Living above your means is a surefire road to financial stress — and even if you start earning more or get a hefty raise, don't use that as justification to give yourself a lifestyle raise."I didn't buy my first luxury watch or car until my businesses and investments were producing multiple secure flows of income," writes self-made millionaire Grant Cardone at Entrepreneur. "I was still driving a Toyota Camry when I had become a millionaire. Be known for your work ethic, not the trinkets that you buy."
2. Thinking you don't deserve to be rich
"The average person believes being rich is a privilege awarded only to lucky people," self-made millionaire Steve Siebold writes at Business Insider. "The truth is, in a capitalist country, you have every right to be rich if you're willing to create massive value for others."Start asking yourself, "Why not me?" he encourages. Next, start thinking big. Rich people set their expectations high. Why not $1 million?
3. Relying on one stream of income
"Self-made millionaires do not rely on one singular source of income," Thomas C. Corley, who spent five years studying rich people, writes in "Change Your Habits, Change Your Life.""They develop multiple streams. Three seemed to be the magic number in my study ... Sixty-five percent had at least three streams of income that they created prior to making their first million dollars."
Examples of these additional streams are real-estate rentals, stock market investments, and part-ownership in a side business.
4. Being content with what you already know
The wealthiest, most successful people are constantly exercising their brains and looking for ways to continue learning long after college or their formal education is over.
5. Hanging out with the wrong crowd
"Einstein said that consciousness is contagious," Siebold writes. "That doesn't mean dump your friends because of their low net worth. But if you want to become rich, you need to start associating with other rich people."Think of it this way: "If you wanted to become fit, you would hang around fit people at the gym. If you were interested in religion, you would associate more with people at church," he explains. "So if you want to become wealthy, get around other wealthy people and learn from them."
Doctors in China remove 16ft tapeworm from man who loves to eat raw meat
Tapeworms in humans aren’t an odd sight, unless of course they measure in at 16ft. 45-year-old Chen from Guangxi, south China who loves to eat raw beef and fish complained of stomach problems to doctors.
Tests were carried out by his city’s Gastroenterology department which revealed the tapeworm and even then, it took five days to extract.
Doctors determined the parasite had come from contaminated raw food and studied it to discover how it grew so long in its host. Tapeworms – or taenia saginata as they are known scientifically – has eggs which hatch in cattle and are carried through the body by the animal’s circulatory system. The egges hatch three months after human consumption and develop into adults in the small intestine which according to scientists have a life expectancy of 60years. To think someone could carry it around almost all their life.
Doctors have advised that meat and fish fans should be wary when eating unregulated and under cooked-produce – and that if raw beef is consumed, it should be chilled well beforehand.

Swiss billionaire gives birth to twins at age 53
A Swiss billionaire businesswoman has given birth to twin girls at the age of 53, her spokeswoman has said.
Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, ranked the 171st richest person in the world and the 21st most powerful woman in Europe, the Middle East and Asia by Forbes and Fortune magazines, is the majority owner and chairwoman of the £120bn international trading house Louis Dreyfus Commodities. She also owns the French first-division football club Olympique de Marseille.
“Mother and babies are doing well,” the press office of the 165-year-old family firm announced, confirming weekend rumours in the Swiss press. The company said in December that Louis-Dreyfus intended to take “a brief pause” after the births but would return to work full-time at the end of April.
The Russian-born businesswoman, who will be 54 in June, has three sons, including 18-year-old twins, from her marriage to her late husband, Robert Louis-Dreyfus, from whom she inherited the French commodities house after his death from leukaemia in 2009.
The babies’ father was reported by Swiss media to be Philipp Hildebrand, a former governor of the Swiss central bank until he resigned his post in 2012 following an insider currency trading scandal involving his ex-wife, Kashya, a former trader.
Hildebrand has since become vice president of the US financial services giant BlackRock, the world’s largest asset management firm, with more than $4,500bn under management.
Louis Dreyfus Commodities, which has offices or subsidiaries in more than 90 countries, trades in everything from grains, oils, coffee, cotton, fruit juices, sugar and dairy products to metals, marine transport and fertilisers.
Held by a trust based in Amsterdam, the company is widely thought to be the largest cotton and rice trader and second-largest sugar trader in the world. Along with Archer Daniels Midland, Bunge and Cargill, it makes up the so-called “ABCD” quartet of companies that control most of the world’s agricultural commodities trading.
Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, who sold circuit-board components for a living until she met her late husband, has shaken up the venerable company since assuming control, reshuffling top management and raising her majority stake to around 81% – making her worth $7.1bn, according to Forbes.
Robert Louis-Dreyfus was a cousin of the former Louis Dreyfus chief executive, Gérard Louis-Dreyfus, the father of US actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who is best known for her work in the TV series Seinfeld and Veep.

No bottled water in Ghana contains minerals - Nutrition expert
According to research by water safety expert at the University of Ghana, no single bottled water company in Ghana is producing water that contains minerals.
Bottled mineral water is the preferred choice of water for the middle and high class in Ghana. Consumers say it is the most expensive and the safest too.
According to experts, those who have been consuming water labeled “mineral water” thinking they will get useful minerals like calcium, magnesium or iron to improve their health and nutrition should rethink it.
The Professor of Nutrition and Food Science, Professor Kwaku Tanoh-Debrah, with over three decades research into water safety in Ghana says bottled mineral water producers have been deceiving the consumers.
In an interview with Joy News’ Raymond Acquah, Prof Tanoh-Debrah said he is baffled that companies advertise their bottled water as containing minerals.
“If you want to call water mineral water, it should have some useful minerals in certain concentrations. The levels that are there are so low that they don’t qualify as mineral water,” Prof Tanoh-Debrah.
He said what consumers see on the shelves are, “very purified water that they [producers] have taken away a lot of the dissolved substances. That actually makes tap water healthier.”
He explained that during the reverse osmosis system, producers take away all the dissolved minerals to the lowest level, which makes it even acidic to the extent that tap water is better.
According to Prof Tanoh-Debrah, “if the water comes from spring sources you should be sure that the water has no arsenic three, which is a heavy metal [carcinogenic] that is dangerous to our health. Spring is one of the sources of trihydrate form of arsenic, which is highly toxic.”

3 South African Men Arrested By BNI Were Training NPP Guards - Perry Okudzeto
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has admitted knowledge of the three retired South African police officers picked up by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and said to be posing a threat to the country's security.
According to the party, the three were training some members of the party’s security detail on crowd control mechanisms.
The three South Africans were arrested on Sunday at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region for allegedly training some young men in various security drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques and rapid response manoeuvres.
But speaking on Citi FM, the Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Mr Perry Okudzeto noted that their men, numbering 16 had only been sent to Delta Force Security Company Limited to be trained on how to handle crowds.
He said it only happened that the security company had hired the three South Africans, Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis (retd), Warrant Officer Denver Dwayhe and Captain Mlungiseli Jokani as consultants.
According to Mr Okudzeto, the training of their security detail had been necessitated by “the continuous popularity of our flagbearer and running mate…”

Fattest Man In Colombia Taken To A Weight Loss Clinic In A Fire Truck
The fattest man in Colombia had to call on a team of 20 men and a fire truck to take him to a weight-loss clinic so that he could receive urgent life-changing treatment.
After gorging on a diet of junk food for decades Oscar Vasquez Morales, 44, who clocks in at 63 stones - around 400kg or 882lbs - was warned that if he did not lose weight his condition would cost him his life.
In desperation he reached out to a local heart foundation, in the city of Palmira, and thankfully its team of specialists agreed to help him with a series of assessments and tests at their centre.
However, before he began his vital treatment he faced another obstacle – leaving his house.
Mr Morales needs assistance carrying out simple day-to-day activities such as going to the toilet and dressing himself and hasn’t walked unaided for years.
Leaving his home was always going to be a monumental task, but fortunately, when his local fire department heard about his plight they rushed to his aid and helped him on his way.
He will now undergo treatment from nutritionists, a psychologist and physicians before facing gastric surgery.
Mr Morales hopes to lose 47 stones (300kg/662lbs) in four years, with the treatment allowing him to live a normal life.
He said: 'When my whole family goes out for a walk, I stay alone, because I cannot move. But I would, even if it was only to walk a few blocks to visit my brothers.'
Even going to the toilet is a problem, he added: 'To go to the bathroom, I have to get out of bed with the help of my family.'
Mr Morales' battle with his weight stems from trauma caused by the death of his parents - both suffered fatal heart attacks just a year apart - when he was in his late teens.
He swiftly fell into deep depression and sought comfort in fast food and an unhealthy lifestyle.
Salvador Palacio, who runs the Antiochian Gorditos Heart Foundation treating Mr Morales, said he decided to help the patient because he needed to be 'rescued'.
The foundation receives 4,300 applications a year from Colombians with obesity problems.
Currently, 2,000 people are being treated there, out of the 200,000 who suffer the disease throughout the country, according to the Colombian Association of Obesity and Bariatric Surgery.
Mr Morales will now undergo a three-phased process - the implantation of a gastric balloon, then a gastric sleeve and finally a gastric bypass.
Among the discomfort he suffers on a daily basis are painful sores from the creases in his skin, severe pelvic lymphedema and sleep apnoea.
However, with the promise of a brighter future he is staying positive, he said: 'I want to take care of myself.'

Identical twins have sex with their shared boyfriend together because they get in 'the mood at same time'
Identical twins Anna and Lucy DeCinque have revealed they share every aspect of their lives - including time in bed with their boyfriend.
The 30-year-old sisters baffled ITV's This Morning hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as they bluntly admitted they sleep with him at the same time.
They said: "We're in the mood at the same time. He's a lucky guy, He needs double the energy, he gets double the love and double the attention."
Although the sisters admitted people have an issue with their arrangement, they have stood by their decision.
"They can have their opinions but this is the way we want to live our lives," they argued. "We're not hurting anyone and it makes us happy.
"We're always going to be together. Because we're with each other 24/7 of our lives it's so much easier to share a boyfriend."
Recently, the 30-year-old sisters have even said they want to have babies at the same time “because our bodies need to be the same.”
The girls are both in a relationship with mechanic Ben Byrne, who is also a twin - but not an identical one.
Even though the two aren’t actively trying for babies, yet, they told Australian current affairs and discussion show The Insight their plans when they do start planning a family.
Anna said: “If I got pregnant Lucy would definitely get pregnant straight way — because our bodies need to be the same.
“We would try to make that happen, definitely. We are not trying right now — we love children and kids love us, but it’s not the time for us.
“We would have to be exactly the same — even if we went through IVF at the same time.”
The pair shared their story on the show, as part of a double episode about twins.
Following the programme, the twins spoke to the Herald Sun (which weren’t able to say which of the girls was speaking as “their voices are pretty much identical too.”)
One of twins said: “We actually felt a bit intimidated by the other twins, because we always thought we were the centre of attention.”
The Insight investigation looks at what the latest twin research can reveal about humanity at large — for social and scientific researchers, twins are ‘the perfect natural experiment’, especially identical twins who share 99.9% of the same DNA.
The pair became famous after they were dubbed the 'world's most identical twins' on a Japanese prank TV show, when facial recognition technology could not tell them apart.
The two - born just a minute apart - have reportedly blown £130,000 on cosmetic surgery to make sure they look as similar as possible.

Professional boxer-turned-Philippine politician Manny Pacquiao has been banned from entering Los Angeles' shopping mall The Grove yet again for his previous homophobic remarks.
As reported on PEP News, the mall's owner Rick Caruso announced the decision recently, saying that a lot of people from the gay community are frequent visitors of the mall, and have the right to feel uncomfortable. "[Therefore], Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome," he said. Last month, the boxer angered the LGBT community and its supporters over his statement that gay people are worse than animals. Although he later apologised, it seemed that the damage has already been done. But this isn't the first time Pacquiao was banned from The Grove. Back in 2012, he was banned from the mall for quoting the Leviticus passage that says homosexuals should be put to death. Caruso stated, "Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao, we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future. The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance."

JHS girl raped and killed by ‘wee smoker’ at Ejisu Juaben
This was after he allegedly raped the Junior High School final year student whose name was given as Azuma infront of the mother and her grandmother on Monday night.
The alleged killer, whose name was given as Adongo, also slashed the mother of the girl’s throat and head. The deceased’s paternal grandmother who was on a visit also sustained a cut on her back. They are receiving treatment at a nearby health facility.
Adongo, after committing the atrocity, bolted but the police are currently on manhunt for him.
Narrating the incident to Onua FM’s Yen Sempa Tuesday, the Assembly Member for the Electoral Area, William Kwaku Obeng explained that he was waken at about 1am this dawn, only to be greeted with the sad news of someone being killed in the area.
He said Adongo allegedly entered the victims’ room at midnight while they were asleep and demanded that they handed over the lady to her without any tangible reason. Brandishing the lethal cutlass, he threatened to kill everybody in that room, so the two women including two others obliged without a struggle.
Right in their presence, he raped the deceased. After the ignoble act, blood-thirsting Adongo slashed the poor girl’s chest right in-between the breasts.
Not satisfied, Adongo pounced on the victim’s mother and the old lady, inflicting cutlass wounds on them but left the two other children.
The Assembly Member told Yen Sempa host, Kwame Karikari that the people started shouting for help which attracted other tenants on the compound house but Adongo took to his heels after sensing danger.
Mr. Obeng said Adongo is known in the area as someone who smokes marijuana but discounted any perception that he might be insane.
He is currently being pursued by the police.

I Had Sex With 183 Women For Rituals - Kwame
Emotions ran high last Friday at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region following the startling confession of a 28- year old gold dealer of how he had sex with more than 183 women and used their vaginal fluids for money rituals.
Kwame Assenso, who raced to the Life Way Miracle Centre at Obuasi Asonkore for a spiritual solution after nemesis had caught up with him, said his sexual escapades with the young women happened within a period of one year. Showing signs of remorse, Kwame Assenso said he committed the act in order to get rich quickly and also become the don of the gold trading business at Obuasi.
In his search for money and power, the young man claimed he was introduced to a Mallam at Navrongo in the Upper East Region, who gave him a money god, while he was a galamsey operator at Obuasi. Narrating how he came by his money, the gold dealer said he was directed by the Mallam to sleep around with women and use the vaginal fluids of the victims to perform rituals for the blood money. "It all started a year ago when I was introduced to this Mallam by my friends. I wanted to fortify my position as a gold dealer and get more money as well.
He helped me out by giving me a money god which needed the vaginal fluids of women," Assenso recounted. The Obuasi Tutuka resident revealed that he bonked several women and lost count of them after the 183rd woman, and paid each of the women between GHc 300 and GHc 500 for a night's encounter, which all happened at his residence in Obuasi. Trouble started for the renowned gold dealer, Kwame Assenso, when he met one "prayerful woman" whom he brought home for a hot sex session one night, but it turned out to be the end of the road for him. According to him, he returned to his room to find this lady praying on his bed, after going out to pass urine, which action rendered him motionless, and he began experiencing sleepless nights thereafter. "I asked why she was praying, and she replied that it was nothing.
I could not touch her and since then, till my deliverance, I experienced nightmares," he disclosed. He narrated that he began experiencing recurrent nightmares, and therefore went to Prophet Kofi Sarfo's church for spiritual intervention, where he made the startling revelation of the blood money and the number of women he preyed upon. Kwame Assenso asked the victims of his blood money for forgiveness and pledged to use the proceeds to help the poor, professing that he had turned over a new leaf. "Our women like money and I want them to know that not all that glitters is gold. They should be careful and not cheapen themselves for money."

Suspected Robber Lynched At Tema
A SUSPECTED armed robber believed to be in his late 20s, has been lynched at Vic Boss junction at Community 22, Tema, along the Tema-Akosombo Highway, for allegedly attempting to rob a house.
The suspect, who could not be immediately identified by the residents, was said to have gone on an operation a night before but luck eluded him when some youth saw him and gave him a hot chase. He was eventually caught when he reportedly ran into a big gutter.
He was believed to have committed robbery with some accomplices who managed to escape; but he was purportedly lynched somewhere and abandoned at the junction.
When DAILY GUIDE visited the scene, scores of residents had trooped to the place to catch a glimpse of the deceased, with some women weeping uncontrollably.
Machete, pieces of stick and stones which were said to have been used to lynch the man were found around him.
A closer look at the deceased showed that he had his hand almost cut off, likewise the feet.
An eyewitness, Mr. Francis Annan, who narrated the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said residents of the area had been having sleepless nights as suspected armed robbers kept terrorizing them.
He alleged that the armed robbery cases had been reported to the police on several occasions but nothing had been done about them.
The eyewitness pleaded with residents, especially the youth, to desist from carrying out instant justice on suspects and urged them to instead arrest and hand them over to the police for investigations.
This, Mr. Francis Annan believed, would help the police in their work of pursuing the perpetrators and retrieve all stolen goods from them.

Scientists reveal the real reason we close our eyes when we kiss
The real reason people close their eyes when they kiss is because the brain can’t deal with more than two things at once.
That is the finding of academics who have explored one of the great mysteries of the human psyche.
When people pucker up the brain finds it difficult to process the sensation if cognitive power is also being used to analyse what we see, said psychologists from Royal Holloway, University of London.
‘Tactile awareness depends on the level of perceptual load in a concurrent visual task,’ said Polly Dalton and Sandra Murphy, from the university, in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance.
The cognitive psychologists reached their conclusion without studying people actually kissing.
Instead people were asked do visual tests while their response to something touching their hands was measured.
The academics found that the visual field overrides tactile responses – meaning people would struggle to continue kissing if what they were looking at became more difficult to process.
Dr Dalton told The Sunday Times: ‘If we are focusing strongly on a visual task, this will reduce our awareness of stimuli in other senses.
‘It is important for designers to be aware of these effects, because auditory and tactile alerts are often used in situations of high visual demand, such as driving a car or flying an aircraft.’
The findings could also explain why people often shut their eyes whilst reading braille or when dancing.
Dr Dalton added: ‘These results could explain why we close our eyes when we want to focus attention on another sense. Shutting out the visual input leaves more mental resources to focus on other aspects of our experience.’

NPP Will Another Shocking Greater Shocking Death If They Fail To Pray - Rev. Owusu Bempah
The Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministries, Rev Owusu Bempah has attributed the death of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, former National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to one of the many prophecies God revealed to him at last year's December 31 all-night church service.
According to him, the death of the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni, the fatal accidents on our roads, the death of the Bantamahene and many deaths in the country are part of the prophecies God revealed to him.
Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jacob Otanka "Jake" Obetsebi-Lamptey passed away early Sunday.
On the 16th of December last year news went viral on Social media that Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey was dead but he confirmed that he was in South Africa receiving treatment.
The rumour mill had it that the former Tourism Minister died in South Africa while seeking medical attention.
But a hale and hearty Obetsebi Lamptey wondered why “people go out of their way to manufacture idiotic stories when there are so many serious stories that concern our country that are going on that people should be concerned with…it shows futility of what goes on on social media unfortunately.”
But upon confirmation by Bryan Acheampong last Sunday of his death, Rev. Owusu Bempah on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show hinted that the death of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey is one of the prophecies God revealed to him.
Rev. Owusu Bempah is again warning the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that there will be another death which will involve a pillar of the party if the members are not prayerful and sit unconcerned.
“I am not a prophet of doom but if the NPP sit down and don’t pray harder, they will witness another death which is far greater than the death of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey. This is what God revealed to me last year December 31, 2015 and if they like they should not pray and watch out,” he admonished.
He however begged not to be seen as an NPP Prophet but a prophet of God as he is prepared to speak the mind of God and not per his own conviction to please anybody in the country.

Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey died early Sunday in the United Kingdom after a short illness. Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey served in various ministerial positions during the Kufuor administration and led the NPP in the 2012 general elections.

Leukemia is a form of cancer that begins in the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow - the soft, inner part of the bones.
Leukeamia - which literally means "white blood" in Greek - occurs when there is an excess of abnormal white blood cells in the blood. Known as leukocytes, these cells are so plentiful in some individuals that the blood actually has a whitish tinge.
The types of leukemia are grouped by how quickly the disease develops and gets worse. Leukemia is either chronic (gets worse slowly) or acute (gets worse quickly).
The common symptoms of leukemia includes fevers or night sweats; frequent infections; feeling weak or tired; headache; bleeding and bruising easily (bleeding gums, purplish patches in the skin, or tiny red spots under the skin), pain in the bones or joints, swelling or discomfort in the abdomen (from an enlarged spleen), swollen lymph nodes, especially in the neck or armpit and weight loss.
A bone marrow transplant was Jake's only chance of survival.

Mohammed Nazir, The Ghanain ISIS recruit killed in a battle.
Mohammed Nazir Nortei Alema, the Ghanaian graduate from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) who joined terrorist group ISIS in August 2015 has been reported killed.
Sources close to the family in Accra told the The Finder newspaper that the final funeral rites, Adua in Islam, were held Sunday.
Nazir was reportedly killed in battle in the Syrian city of Homs.
Sheik Abdul Rahman, the former Chief Imam of London, who named Mr Nazir when he was born in London, led the Adua prayers held in Osu, where the family of the deceased resides.
Mallam Barhama of Tudu and Mallam Yusif of Accra New Town also supported Sheik Abdul Rahman in the prayers.
According to sources close to the family, another Ghanaian ISIS recruit who gave his name as Mr Yusif, a graduate of the University of Mines in Prestea, announced Mr Nazir’s death to the family through an email.
Nazir left Ghana in August last year to join ISIS in Syria, a situation that caused panic on the campus of the Kumasi-based university.
Students were stunned when they heard that the quiet and calm former student had joined the jihadist group.
According to them, his demeanour never showed him as someone with the slightest inclination to violence.
Their biggest fear is that there could be a secret camp of the terrorist group on the campus that admits and recruits students.
Shortly after joining ISIS, Nazir Nortei Alema reportedly sent a message to his family informing them about his decision to join the jihadist group, after completing a one-year National Service with the Ghana Statistical Service.

Madonna Pulls Down A Female Fan's Top To Reveal Her Breast On Stage
Madonna has been shocking us with her on-stage antics during her Rebel Heart Tour but she's now taken things to the next level.
The 57-year-old superstar pulled down a female fan's TOP to reveal her bare breast in front of thousands of concert-goers on Thursday night - after yet again leaving the audience in Australia waiting HOURS for her to step on stage.
She invited the girl up to join her and later whipped down her corset-style top, describing her as: "The kind of girl you just want to slap on the a**."
The brunette beauty looked completely gob-smacked as the singer added: "Oh s**t. Oh sorry, sexual harassment ... you can do the same to me".
The singer, who is in the middle of a custody battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie over her 15-year-old son Rocco, reportedly performed to a 'half empty' stadium at the Entertainment Centre in Brisbane.
Fans were allegedly told they could have refunds as she was expected to be late AGAIN.
When she finally arrived she joked: "The late police had me arrested," before going on an X-rated rant, leaving those in the crowd slightly bemused.
One fan later shared on Twitter: "Oh wow. She wasn't kidding. I've seen bigger crowds at a pub. #Madonna.
They then added: "Lots of coloured empty seats for #Madonna. This actually makes me sad."
Meanwhile, the star left fans furious after she reportedly arrived THREE HOURS late for a concert on Wednesday at the venue.
The Rebel Heart hitmaker was scheduled to begin her show at 8pm but her loyal followers became increasingly frustrated when it was announced she would step on stage after 10.30pm - and she reportedly eventually appeared at 11.22pm.
"Madonna going for a record in Brisbane tonight. 3 hours late to stage, heading for midnight sorry luv this diva behaviour not cool #madonna," one concert-goer wrote on Twitter.
Another fan added: "letting her fans down once again. I have no idea why people would go see her in the first place. She is disgusting & should retire."

Scottish MPs on Mahama Over Gay Rights
Some members of the Scottish Parliament have called on their government to confront President John Dramani Mahama on alleged abuses of alleged gays and lesbians in Ghana.
This follows a visit by President Mahama to the Scottish Parliament on Thursday as part of his visit to Scotland.
According to the MPs, an invitation to President Mahama to address them undermines the safety of the Scottish parliament for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
A Guardian report said President Mahama received muted applause from the Holyrood chamber as he listened to FMQs, but a meeting with opposition leaders was cancelled.
After the Scottish parliament’s presiding officer, Tricia Marwick, said she would “extend the hand of friendship” to Mahama, members of the Scottish Greens, including their co-convenor Patrick Harvie, who is gay, wrote to her on Wednesday to urge caution.
They said: “We believe that the Scottish parliament should be a place where everyone can feel safe. Yet the invitation to President John Dramani Mahama to address MSPs can only undermine this, given his full support for the horrific discriminatory laws towards the LGBT community in his country.”
Ghana is one of 75 countries around the world where it is still illegal to be gay, carrying a sentence of up to three years in prison.
While the director of Stonewall Scotland, Colin Macfarlane, acknowledged “some promising statements from President Mahama criticising violence against LGBT communities”, he went on to call for the Scottish government to recognise its “important responsibility to help advance the protection of LGBT rights across the world”.
Responding to calls from opposition leaders, a Scottish government spokesperson confirmed that the first minister would “share her strong view that the Commonwealth values of humanity, equality and tolerance are universal values” during the president’s visit.
Naomi McAuliffe, Amnesty International’s programme director in Scotland, said her organisation received regular reports that LGBT people faced police harassment, while repressive attitudes towards LGBT Ghanaians meant they were vulnerable to discrimination and physical attacks. This was against a background of the use of torture and ill-treatment by police and intelligence services, alongside widespread violence against women and girls.
McAuliffe said: “We understand opposition leaders and MSPs choosing not to meet President Mahama during his visit to the Scottish parliament as Ghana’s human rights record has serious failings. However, we are not calling for a boycott of the visit as we view this as an opportunity to raise our concerns about LGBTI discrimination, violence against women and girls, and the use of torture. Nicola Sturgeon’s commitment to raising ‘values of humanity, equality and tolerance’ is welcome and we look forward to hearing about any positive interventions.”
Mahama’s visit to Scotland will also entail him receiving an honorary degree from the University of Aberdeen on Friday.

Families of ex-Gitmo detainees desperate to visit Ghana
It is emerging that family members of the two ex-Guantanamo Bay detainees brought to Ghana on the orders of the United States government, are fighting hard to come into the country to visit them.
They are desperately pushing to enter Ghana at a time the security apparatus has issued a high alert over a possible terrorist attack following the attacks in Grand Bassam in neighbouring Ivory Coast that left about 22 people dead on March 14, 2016.
The arrival of the two Al-Qaeda suspected terrorists – Muhammad Bin Atef, 36, and Khalid Muhammad Salih al-Dhuby, 34 – from the US Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, has sparked unending and heated debate in the country.
Some security experts have said that the acceptance of the Gitmo 2 ex-detainees which Foreign Affairs Minister, Hanna Tetteh described as Al-Qaeda foot-soldiers by the NDC government is making Ghana susceptible to terrorist attacks.
Security Alert
President John Mahama, who chaired the National Security Council meeting on Tuesday which reviewed the security situation in the country following the rising insurgency by Al-Qaeda militants in the West African sub-region, especially Mali, Burkina Faso and lately, La Cote d’Ivoire, later emplaned to Scotland.
Saudi Mission
DAILY GUIDE is reliably informed that the Ghana Mission in Saudi Arabia which has oversight responsibility over Yemen where the Gitmo 2 are citizens, had received visa applications from family members of the two men but was said to have referred them to the Foreign Ministry in Accra for clearance.
It is also emerging that the four Yemenis who were arrested for arriving in Ghana with fake visas appeared to have hands in the arrival of the Gitmo 2 former detainees in Ghana.
Government Sources
Government officials have been tightlipped on the issue; however, Deputy Minister of the Interior, James Agalga, recently said on radio that the NDC government could not prevent families of the two former Guantanamo Bay detainees from visiting them in Ghana.
“The decision that was taken was for the two to be admitted into this country. Family members, whether they are Yemenis or whatever, if they have to come to Ghana, there are laid down procedures for the entry of foreigners into the country,” he underscored.
He said that the two would not be denied their freedom of movement such as visiting the mosques, among others, although they would be closely monitored.
US Senators’ Threat
Even though the Mahama-led NDC government had variously insisted that there were no strings – whether financial or otherwise – attached to the deal for Ghana to host the two suspected terrorists, four US senators called on their Appropriations Committee to cut foreign aid to Ghana if the West African country failed to hold and monitor the two former-detainees.
The Senators, Mark Kirk of Illinois, Roy Blunt of Missouri, James Lankford of Oklahoma and Steve Daines of Montana, stated this in a letter to State and Foreign Operations and Related Programs Chairman Lindsay Graham and the Appropriations Committee Chairman, Thad Cochran.
A statement on the US Senate website said the Senators requested for a reduction in assistance to Ghana by $10 million per detainee “in the event either of these detainees escapes from confinement or re-engages in terrorism while in Ghana’s custody.”
Their basis was that about 30% of terrorists released from Guantanamo Bay were known or suspected to have returned to their terrorist-related activities.
Fake Visas
The four Yemenis who allegedly arrived with fake French passports as well as fake visas, have already been remanded into the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) by an Accra circuit court presided over by Aboagye Tandoh.
They are Esmail Yahya Zey aka Evra Allerson, Gaafar Eissa Yahya Amer aka Ciro Carlos, Waleed Ahmed Yahya aka Debuchya Allard – all students – and Eissa Yahya Airier, a businessman.

Students reject NDC ‘gari’ to meet Bawumia
It was an interesting spectacle on the Dambai College of Education Campus on Monday, when local NDC officials in the Krachi East Constituency flooded the Institution with bags of ‘Gari’ as enticements for students to boycott a scheduled event with NPP Running Mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Events started taking an interesting turn when a day before the scheduled forum at the Dambai College of Education Campus, authorities informed the NPP in the region that Dr. Bawumia will not be allowed on the premises of the Campus after the authorities received a directive from the Ministry of Education.
However, Students and some Lecturers of the College, undaunted and determined to meet the NPP Vice Presidential Candidate, organized the forum on a park outside the School premises.
Hit by the determined efforts of the Students and some lecturers of the Campus, the NDC officials in the region resorted to a last ditch effort to sabotage the programme by flooding the Campus with hundreds of ‘olonka’ bags of Gari for the students for free.
In the calculation of the NDC in the region, the sharing of the Gari to coincide with the Bawumia Forum should have diverted the attention and presence of the students from the Policy Speech of the NPP Vice Presidential candidate to the free Gari but this calculation failed to materialise when the Students, despite the “enticing offer” refused the Gari and attended the function in their numbers. Other students who took the Gari, also joined their colleagues to listen to Dr. Bawumia.
The Head of the Social Sciences Department at the College, Mr. Lambert Ahiadzu Sefadzi decried the development when he took his turn at the Forum to lay out the issues facing Colleges of Education across the country.
“Because of this program, a political party is today sharing Gari on the campus of Dambai College of Education. The Press can rush to the Campus right now to find out at the Dining Hall. This is just to prevent students from coming to this program. So this is how they think they can buy our conscience”
Speaking at the same Forum, NPP Youth Organizer Sammy Awuku noted that he was happy that the NDC by their actions had clarified the choices available and made it clear that the choice was between the future of the youth, the restoration of Teacher Trainee Allowances and Gari.
“Just when I thought this government was going to get serious, I have realised that they are still reducing our politics. I am happy that they have given us a clear option. This election is about Gari or Teacher Trainee Allowances,” Awuku said.

Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) Dr Henry Kofi Wampah is likely to exit from the bank soon as pressure mounts on him to do so.

Top among them is the management of the country’s currency the cedi as well as the microfinance sector.
But the recent arrest of David McDermott, an alleged drug baron, who is married to his step daughter is further increasing pressure for him to bow out.
Calls for his resignation
MPs recently called for his head following the DKM microfinance and God is Love fraud saga.
Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Matthew Opoku Prempeh for example early this month insisted that Dr Henry Kofi Wampah steps down as he believes the central bank has failed in supervising the microfinance sector.
Matthew Opoku Prempeh who made the call when Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah addressed MPs on recent developments in the microfinance sector said ‘as honorable members of this house who passed the Bank of Ghana act, these Micro Finance companies come under the direct supervision of Bank of Ghana.
Unfortunately, lack of effective supervision on the part of the central bank has resulted in these cases. You cannot fire the governor of the Bank of Ghana, He has to step down.’’
President loses confidence in him?
The president John Mahama in his state of the nation address recently also hit hard at Dr Wampah for failing to manage the microfinance sector leading to its troubles.

31 year old man can no longer have sex after losing half of his penis
A man who thought torn skin on his penis was the result of over-enthusiastic sex was horrified to discover he was actually suffering from ultra-rare penile cancer .
Wayne Martin, 31, has lost most of his penis after being diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, which invaded his urethra and shaft and subsequently became penile cancer .
He was given the all-clear in January this year and has now decided to share his story in a bid to warn other young men that – though the rare disease is often found in older patients – it can affect them too.
Wayne, who can no longer have full penetrative sex, which he said affects his dating life, is believed to be one of the youngest sufferers.
“I found out on my 29th birthday I had penile cancer,” he said in his first ever interview, explaining he had suffered symptoms for eight months before being diagnosed.
“Symptoms had been present for approximately eight months before being diagnosed.
“I can remember it first being present around Thanksgiving 2012.”
The government employee of Tallahassee, Florida, USA, described the cut on his penis as initially being like “torn skin.”

Outrage as zoo keeper is caught on camera 'performing sex act on dolphin'
A zoo has been criticised after footage appeared to show a keeper performing a sex act on a dolphin .
But investigators say the act isn’t a crime because it was part of a “breeding programme”.
Since the video was released online, furious animal campaigners have slammed the Dolphinarium in Hardewijk, Netherlands.
They branded it an “underwater circus” and are calling for it to be shut down immediately.
Undercover footage showed a dolphin lying on its back in what appears to be an indoor pool.
A male zookeeper leans over the sea mammal and uses his glove hand to perform the sex act before feeding the dolphin a fish.
The zoo has claimed the weird act is to “de-stress” the animals.

Homosexuals Killing Nollywood - Mr Ibu
Nollywood actor and comedian John Okafor is often called Mr. Ibu as a reference to his most famous and successful movie role.
In a brief chat with Nigeriafilms.com, the Enugu state born veteran actor bares his mind on the issues of homosexuals taking over their Nigerian movie industry.
In his words: “Anybody that is a homosexual and still parades his or herself as a part of Nollywood is the biggest virus that doesn’t want the growth of the industry. They are killing the industry. I am always hard on these people because they are like a cog in the wheel of our growth. They are lot of pretenders. They pretend to be your friend, but against the progress of Nollywood".
Mr. Ibu also spoke on the real problems of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN; ‘’ we only want the government to give some lands and a site to build film village. Once that is done, we promise never to bother them ever again. We need to have structures down for our children and future sake, he added.

I Lied About Nana Addo - 'Security Expert' Ibard Ibrahim
Ibard Ibrahim, the young man who claims to be a security expert has apologized to leader of the main opposition Nana Akufo-Addo, for comments made in the wake of the arrival of the two ex-Guantanamo Bay detainees to Ghana.
In a statement, Ibrahim, who was lashed at following his claims the opposition leader had prior knowledge of the arrival of the two, confessed to lying, adding he was not well informed.
See statement below
The militant attack in Ivory Coast shows how vulnerable Ghana is to possible attacks by militants from the Sahel region and North Africa.
This has nothing to do with playing host to only two ex-Gitmo detainees. I sincerely apologize to Nana Addo and the NPP for an error in the intelligence info about being informed of the ex-detainees 6 months before their arrival.
That inelligence gap is sincerely regrettable and won‘t happen again. In the same vein, I admire His Excelleny John Dramani Mahama and appreciate the efforts our dear President and the ruling NDC are making to keep the nation safe from attacks. Ghanaians should not panic. We have a diligent police force and a robust army on standby to keep the nation safe. Ghana will continue to remain safe if:
1. We don’t pursue a belligerent foreign policy and stick to peacekeeping missions abroad
3. End youth despondency by creating jobs to profitably engage our teeming exuberant youth whose frustration could be used as a recruitment bonanza
3. Tighten border controls and beef up security at malls, hotels, resorts, bus terminals, universities etc
4. Engage the world in peace building and ending the conflicts in South Sudan, Libya, the Central African Republic etc- Peace Ambassador Irbard Ibrahim

DCOP Awuni has died
The Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni, has died. He died at the Police Hospital in Accra Monday morning after a short illness.
The Deputy Eastern Regional Police Commander, ACP James Abass Abaa, has confirmed the death to Joy News.
“We are all shocked to the core,” ACP Abass said, sounding very emotional and devastated. “In his brief stay with us here, he has introduced his dynamism, his frankness, his utmost honesty that he is made up of had an impact on all of us here.”
“He spoke his mind. He fought corruption with all his zeal. And it didn’t matter whose ox was gored, Awuni would put it bluntly to you when you are wrong,” ACP Abass said.
“I can say Awuni has no peers in the Ghana Police Service,” he said.
DCOP Awuni was Director of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department at the Headquarters before becoming the Eastern Regional Police Commander in the last reshuffle of senior police officers.
Sources close to him have told manassehazure.com that he complained about toothache and went to the Koforidua Regional Hospital for a check up. At the hospital, however, “his temperature suddenly started rising very fast” and he was admitted.
He was on admission at the hospital in Koforidua for five days before being referred to the Police Hospital in Accra. “Yesterday (Sunday, March 13) was exactly one week since he was brought to the Police Hospital in Accra,” the source told manassehazure.com.
“We visited him on Saturday and had a chat with him. He was moving about and appeared fine so we least expected this news,” the source said.
DCOP Awuni will be remembered for his no-nonsense disposition and frankness. In 2012, he ordered the arrest of former Greater Accra Regional Minister and MP for Klottey Korle Constituency, Nii Armah Ashietey, when he misconducted himself at a polling station during the registration process.
