“Marriage Is For Man And Woman” – Queen Elizabeth Rules Out Gay Marriage In UK

Queen Elizabeth II opposed the legalization of same-sex marriage in England because of her deeply held Christian values, a close friend has reportedly told a London-based newspaper.

Daily Mail published a story on Sunday which claimed that the queen, who is also head of the Church of England, secretly opposed gay marriage but was in favour of civil partnerships.

The unnamed “friend” said the monarch was frustrated by the fact that she could only “advise and warn” on the issue.

“It was the ‘marriage’ thing that she thought was wrong, because marriage ought to be sacrosanct between a man and a woman,” said the friend, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail also stated that the reported revelation of her views on the definition of marriage was part of an overall series of stories about the queen as she nears her 90th birthday.

'At least 12 killed' in Ivory Coast hotel by gunmen

At least 12 people have been killed, including four Europeans, after gunmen opened fire near hotels in Ivory Coast.

Between two and four attackers were reportedly involved in the assault on Sunday, launched on a beach in the popular seaside town of Grand-Bassam, a weekend retreat for residents of Abidjan, about 25 miles (40km) away.

Local media reported that gunmen had entered the L’Etoile du Sud (the Southern Star) hotel, taking guests and staff in the building hostage. A police source told Reuters that up to a dozen people were killed in the attack.

“For the moment, we have a total of 12 dead, including four Europeans ... We don’t know yet if there are others. We are doing clean-up operations right now,” the officer told security forces during a briefing attended by a Reuters reporter.

Comedian Bob Okala Is Dead

Popular Ghanaian comedian Samuel Kwadwo Buabeng aka 'Bishop' Bob Okala has died.

He is reported to have passed at the Koforidua Hospital Sunday dawn after he collapsed on stage during a carnival at the Koforidua Jackson park sponsored by Joy Herbal Industries.

According to reports, Bob Okala who was billed to perform at the event collapsed after performing and was rushed to the hospital but he died upon arrival.

Managing editor of Bryte FM, a Koforidua based radio station owned by Joy Herbal industries, Kwaku Solomon, confirmed the news of Okala’s death to Myjoyonline.com.

Okala shot to fame in the 90’s during the popular comedy show, Key Soap Concert Party, which was showed on GTV on Saturday evenings.

The veteran comedian who became identified with a big clock on his wrist during his performances created a niche for himself in comedy and in no time got to star in some local movies.

In what many fans have described as a sad year for Ghanaian comedy, another popular comedian Yaw Donkor, famously known as Nkomode in showbiz world passed on February 5, 2016, and will be buried in April.

The two veteran comedians were always in a tight competition to determine who was funnier during the Key Soap Concert Party days.

Political 'Bishop' Bob Okala did not hide his support for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). He was active on several campaign platforms to garner votes for the party.

He was part of the Kumawood actors who reenacted the Gold Coast police performance during the 59th Independence Day parade at the Black Star Square on March 6.

Maurice Ampaw Replies Owusu Bempah

Celebrity lawyer, Dr. Maurice Ampaw, has called on the security agencies in the country to arrest the Founder and Leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministry International, Rev. Owusu Bempah, the latter, who claimed on radio that he is responsible for the accident the said lawyer suffered in recent past.

In a video reply, lawyer Ampaw made the call and also used the opportunity to inform the public that he is fit as a fiddle by the grace of God.

Lawyer Ampaw also made the assertion to Mustapha Inusah (Nii Attractive) that he wouldn’t be shocked to know that Owusu Bempah could be behind some of the mysterious contract killings in the past — based on the pastor’s own declaration.

“He’s a security threat! A danger to society! He’s a killer and I think he must be arrested” lawyer Ampaw said.

Having disclosed to the media that a car trailed his car from Kumasi–Bechem, lawyer Ampaw strongly suspects Owusu Bempah could be a contract killer. “He can do contract killing. If anything happens to me and family, I will hold him responsible.”

When women goof Mahama punishes, when men goof, they get second chance – Ursula

Ablekuma West MP Ursula Owusu-Ekuful says she has noticed a trend that women who goof in President Mahama’s administration do not get a second chance unlike their male counterparts.

The gender activist explained men who mess up in government are ‘rehabilitated’ and kept at the presidency as Presidential Staffers.

Listing top women officials who have been given the sack, the legislator pointed to the sacking of Deputy Communications minister Victoria Hammah, Deputy Gender minister, Hawa Boya Gariba and Transport minister, Dzifa Attivor.

Victoria Hammah was sacked in November 2013 after her unguarded comments were caught on tape and leaked. She had vowed to make GH₵ 1 million her target in government in the leaked tape.

Transport minister Dzifa Attivor resigned after news broke that government had used oil revenue to spray 113 public buses at an over-priced value of 3.6 million Ghana cedis.

"Hawa Gariba had a fight with somebody....everybody has forgotten about her...very nice woman great personality....where is she now?"

Adding to the list, Deputy Finance minister Mona Quartey also cited the sacking of the CHRAJ boss over abuse of her office.

Shocking: 16-year-old girl stabs man to death over GH¢1

A 23-year-old man has been stabbed to death by a teenage girl in Sunyani, the Brong Ahafo Region capital, following an argument Friday over a paltry one Ghana cedi note.

Ohene Asante, a Computer Technician, died shortly after he was struck in the chest with a sharp knife by the 16-year-old girl.

Joy News’ Precious Semevor explains the two had been involved in a brief altercation over a GH¢1 note said to have been removed from the deceased man’s pocket by the teenager.

The girl has since gone into hiding, but Sunyani police say they are looking for her to assist with investigation into the bizare incident.

Sunyani District Commander, DSP Franklin Kramoh, says he is confident his men would get to the bottom of the matter.

Thomas Oppong Asante, an uncle of the 23-year-old man told Joy News the incident has devastated the family.

“The harm has already been done. A young man, a strong guy, you should see him. So in fact the family has lost a lot. God knows best,” said Mr Oppong.
