My absence in twi movies have affected sales of Kumawood movies - Mr. Beautiful
Clement Bonney known in showbiz industry as Mr. Beautiful in an interview Onua 95.1 fm has said when movie producers in the Ashanti Region sidelined him but his absence has reduced the quality of movies produced in the Region.
Mr. Beautiful openly displayed his political colours during the 2012 general elections, supported the current president His Excellency john Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). According to Mr. Beautiful, ever since he declared His support for the president years ago producers in the Ashanti region have neglected him and have refused to cast him for any movie.
In an interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong host of Anigye Mmre on Onua 95.1, the comedian actor said, he is not trouble because movie producers have sidelined him, “Life has a stage, but my absence has reduced their quality of content, I have my followers, my followers won’t buy any kumawood movie without me, I brought another movement into our local movie industry, if because of declaring my support for president Mahama they have sideline me cool, I’m back to my business, I have an advertising agency”

Ford is not my taste, I prefer Toyota - Mahama
Meanwhile he has also indicated that his outfit is awaiting an official letter from the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and “appropriately, we’d respond to it.”
The president’s latest comment comes on the back of a similar response on Wednesday June 23 at Ashaiman during his ‘Accounting to the People Tour’. Addressing members of the Clergy on
Thursday morning at a breakfast meeting at the Flagstaff House, President Mahama said “recently there’s the issue of a Ford Expedition…, I’ve never been under the illusion that that vehicle was a gift to the state and it’s never been used for my personal comfort. “In any case I don’t use Ford, I don’t like American cars, I use Japanese cars, Toyota is my car but it’s a matter for the Commission on Human Rights. I hear there’s a petition there, appropriately we’d respond to it.”
President Mahama has come under criticism in the last few days over reports of a car gift given to him by a Burkinabe contractor who is purported to have given the vehicle to the president to gain contract favours. The presidency has refuted the allegations but some political parties including the leading New Patriotic Party have asked for a probe into the allegation. Some other institutions have petitioned CHRAJ to investigate the accusation leveled against the president

Mahama acquires pistol with 200 rounds of ammunition
President John Dramani Mahama appears to be jittery about his personal safety, in spite of the heavy security detail he has at his disposal 24 hours a day as he has requested for a pistol to protect himself.
The reason for the acquisition is not yet known but this may lead to the ordinary citizen also applying to own guns, especially when robbery attacks have been the order of the day in recent times, with even policemen dying in the line of duty from the hands of armed robbers.
Mr Mahama is said to have imported a pistol and subsequently applied for licence from the Arms and Ammunition Unit of the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
This is evident in a letter written and signed by the deputy Interior Minister, James Agalga, and addressed to the Director of Police CID dated August 27, 2015.
In that letter headlined, ‘Permission to import and license a pistol,’ – a copy of which has been stumbled upon by DAILY GUIDE – Mr Agalga sought to approve the request by the president to enable him import and use the pistol.
“Permission is hereby granted to H.E John Dramani Mahama to import and license one pistol and two hundred (200) rounds of ammunition,” he stated.
The purpose, he noted, “is to request you to issue H.E John Dramani Mahama with a permit to import and license the items.”
The letter, which was copied to the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at its headquarters, the officer in-charge of the Customs Division (of the GRA) at the Kotoka International Airport, the Director of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), the National Security Coordinator and President Mahama himself, was supposed to expire on December 31, 2015. The reasons for importing a pistol for the president was not stated but the letter indicated that the permit was not transferable.
But Deputy Interior, James Agalga who signed the letter is not forthcoming with information.
When DAILY GUIDE called him yesterday for explanation, he declined to comment.
Instead, he sought to know why the paper was asking him the question as to whether or not he issued the permit.
Not even the explanation that the paper had stumbled on a letter to that effect could suffice as he still asked, “Why are you asking that question? Comment declined.”
Pressed further, he reacted with rage, asking rhetorically, “Do you want to put me under investigation? Do you want to put my office under investigation?” while noting with emphasis, “Whatever responses you want, you can’t get.”
It is not certain whether this state of insecurity compelled some of the security details of the president to use wild dogs during his recent tours in some parts of the country.
During some of those visits, some of the president’s close security guards who were seen in khaki uniforms rather than the regular uniforms used by the police and the military, were seen handling huge dogs, thereby raising questions as to what had necessitated the use of such wild dogs to protect the president.
However, sources told DAILY GUIDE last night that presidents are taken through security drills, including handling of weapons, but had not seen them owning any.

Algeria Blocks Facebook To Stop Exam Cheats
Facebook, Twitter and other social networks have been temporarily blocked in Algeria to try to stop cheats posting high school exam papers online.
Thousands of high school students are retaking part of their baccalaureate exams after details of earlier papers were shared on the internet, according to state media.
An official source quoted by the APS news agency said: “The cut in social media is directly related to the partial baccalaureate exams that are taking place on Sunday.
“This is to protect students from the publication of false papers for these exams.”
The country’s 3G mobile network also appeared to be disrupted on Sunday.
Earlier this month police arrested dozens of people – including officials working in national education offices and printers – to find out how parts of the 2016 high school exams were leaked.

Emeka storms out of interview after questions on failed marriage
Controversial Nollywood actor and acting President of the Actors Guild of Nigerian, AGN, Emeka Ike, on Friday stormed out of an interview when asked about his marriage.
The interview on Television Continental, TVC, took an unexpected turn after the interviewer probed further into the crisis trailing the actor’s marriage.
On the show, Emeka was asked about the current status of his marriage with wife, Suzanne, with whom he has allegedly had a physical altercation and bitter divorce proceedings.
The interviewer said, ”At your home front currently, is everything fine?”
The actor responded, “I love my wife and she is my wife. Everything is fine, I just dropped off my mother-in-law before coming here for this interview.”
However, upon further probing by the presenter who asked if his wife was back with him, the Nollywood ‘bad boy’ in an amplified pitch, said “It is not your business.
“We are working things out and the thing is this, whatever it is, you keep working on things. You keep working things out. You are not going to give up on something you love.
“Now you have a gold chain on your neck and you are at Oshodi bus stop and you are driving and some guy puts his hand through your window to rip off that chain off your neck; the first thing your hand will do impulsively is to protect your neck.
“You need to protect your own so no man can walk into another man’s house and say I want to marry your wife, it’s not possible.”
The interviewer further pressed on, saying it was the business of the press on his marriage issues because he is a public figure but Ike went further to explain why he needed not to answer the question as he stormed out of the interview set.
DAILY POST recalls that the actor’s 12-year-old marriage had packed up after his wife, Suzanne, sought for the dissolution in court over alleged assault from her husband.
It would be recalled as well that just recently, popular singer, Omawumi had stormed out of an interview on Da Chat with HFTv when asked about her smoking and drinking habit.

President Robert Mugabe to Step down.
"I am on my way out," President Robert Mugabe told thousands of children attending celebrations to mark the Day of the African Child.
This is the first time that the President has publicly, clearly spoken about quitting politics instantly inflaming succession fires within his party, as the two main rival factions tear into each other. The factions are led by Mugabe’s wife, Grace who is behind the G-40 grouping fighting VP Emmerson Mnangagwa’s so called Lacoste Team.
Speaking at the celebrations held in Harare, Mugabe said he is on his way out and wants his successors to do a better job.
“Once upon a time, I was like you. But I am not like you anymore. I am on my way out,” he said.
“But when I look over my shoulder, I would want to see bold and courageous men. I want to look behind and say those coming will be better than me,” he was quoted by a local weekly newspaper.
Mugabe — the only leader Zimbabwe has known since independence 36 years ago — has used all manner of tactics to cling to power, including alleged violence against political opponents and electoral fraud.
A few weeks ago, Mugabe (92), declared he wanted to stay on while First Lady Grace Mugabe told the recent Zanu PF million-man-march that “he will rule from the National Heroes Acre”.
Constitutionally, Mugabe can run for one more term, which will end in 2022. But officially opening the 24th Children’s Parliament yesterday, the veteran ruler admitted his days were numbered.
“That is what we always fight to do. To be better than our parents, initially be like them but strive to be better.”
Meanwhile, children who spoke at the occasion painted horrifying images of what they go through in their daily lives, especially their rural counterparts. This was after Youth minister Patrick Zhuwao had told Mugabe that his government’s policies showed a deep commitment to addressing the needs of young people.
“The policies of our government are addressing the various needs of our children,” he said.
“Our youth must be given space to fight for Zimbabwe’s economic independence.” The government was called upon to take the Child Parliament seriously and not treat it like “a Christmas Day”.
“The government should do something to help children in the rural areas,” he said. “Some of them walk for as long as two hours to go to school. Children as young as Grade Zeros. They go to school without shoes in this cold,” lamented a child parliamentarian. A representative of children living with disabilities weighed in.
“The government has to do something to minimise the subjects of those children with disabilities. Focus should be put on practical subjects that can enable children who are disabled to become innovative because nobody is willing to employ them,” he said. Mugabe admitted that the scourge of rape was getting out of hand, threatening “inhuman treatment” to perpetrators.
“If it does not stop, we will be forced to use inhuman treatment to men who rape. It must stop and stop now,” Mugabe said. Another child lawmaker said grinding poverty was forcing children into early marriages.

Burkinabe contractor who gave Mahama gift pulls out of ₵82m contract tender
The Burkinabe contractor who has confessed to sending a gift to President John Mahama has pulled out of a ₵82million bid to construct a 28-kilometre road.
Roads and Highways Minister Alhaji Inusah Fuseini told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Thursday that Djibril Kanazoe had expressed disinterest in the contract "some weeks ago".
An investigation by Joy News' Manasseh Azure Awuni spanning three months has revealed that Djibril Kanazoe who is President and Director-General of Groupe Kanazoe gave a Ford Expedition to President Mahama in 2012 after he had won two construction contracts.
One was to build a wall around a piece of land for Ghana's Embassy in Burkina Faso at a cost of $650,000. Another was the Dodo Pepeso-Nkwanta road worth €25.9million.
The investigations further showed that the contractor was being considered another contract to construct the Wa-Hamile road on sole-sourcing basis.
The Roads Minister, Inusah Fuseini, explained to Joy News’ Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure last Friday that the Burkinabe contractor was being considered for the 28-kilometre road project on the Wa-Hamile stretch because of his proximity to the area and his track record.
The minister said it is because of the quality of the road and the fact that Mr. Kanazoe is near the project site.
"Kanazoe did that part of the road, the extension of the road in Burkina Faso right to the border of Hamile. I even did not know at the time I saw the road that Kanazoe was working in Ghana. When I asked, they said 'the contractor is working in Ghana. He is working on the Dodo Pepeso-Nkwanta road. This project he is doing is funded by the Saudi Fund,'" Inusah Fuseini told Manasseh Azure Awuni.

Husband of Gospel Musician Anita Afriyie Arrested
Daniel Kwabena Osei Jnr, husband and producer of Ghanaian gospel musician, Anita Afriyie was arrested on Monday, June 13 for raiding Karmodey Music Shop in Kumasi. Eye witness who were at the shop at the time of his arrest narrated that the “Adehye Mogya” hit maker’s hubby said Robert, a worker at Karmodey’s Music Shop failed to pay an amount he owed him hence his decision to seize some CDs in his shop.
Detective Ankra from Sofoline Police Station who confirmed the arrest of Dan Kay in an interview with Ray Charles Marfo of Metro FM said police rushed to Karmodey’s Music Shop when they received a call that the producer was damaging his store.
“We had a call from Karmodey on Monday around 3:30pm that someone was damaging his goods at his shop so we rushed there. When we reached there, it was Dan Kay so we arrested him to Sofoline police Station.
When I went back to the shop to access the damage caused, I returned late so we couldn’t grant him bail. The issue was transferred to Suame Police Station on Tuesday so after our investigations, we realised that the root cause was monetary problem between Karmodey’s worker called Robert and Dan Kay about one of Anita Afriyie’s songs. Police asked of the actual figure involved so Commander told them to return on 21st June to know how best the issue can be solved.” Detective Ankra narrated.
He added that Anita Afriyie’s husband has been granted bail. Below is video of Dan Kay in Karmodey’s Music Shop and photos when he was granted bail.

Confusion rocks burial of Mahama's late mother
Less than 24 hours after the death of Madam Abiba Nnaba, mother of President John Dramani Mahama, there is confusion over where to bury the old woman.
The Chief of Busunu, younger brother to Madam Nnaba’s father has refused to allow the deceased to be buried in Bole which is the hometown of President John Mahama’s father E.A Mahama.
The Chief is currently in a meeting with a delegation from President Mahama father’s family led by the DCE for Damongo.
He insists that because President Mahama’s father divorced Madam Nnaba along the line, it will be improper to allow the former’s family to bury Madam Nnaba in Bole, as against Busunu which is the latter’s hometown.
Kasapa FM’s Northern Regional Correspondent, Illiasu who’s currently at Busunu monitoring the meeting reported that several people are grieving over Madam Nnaba’s death, with sympathizers gathering at the family home.
He added that there’s presence of police and Military officers to ensure a peaceful deliberation.
Madam Abiba Nnaba passed on Tuesday. She is survived by six children including the President.
The family of Abiba Nnaba at Busunu in the Northern region is yet to be officially notified as tradition demands.
Her body will be flown to Busunu from Accra today for burial in accordance with Islamic tradition.

Military in search for officer allegedly linked to ISIS
Citi News sources within the Ghana Military High Command say they are on a manhunt for one of their officers who is suspected to have links with terrorist group ISIS.
The Officer, Bawa Abdul Rahman, vanished into thin air after his commanders invited him for questioning and further investigations.
According to reports within the Military, Private Bawa Abdul Rahman in dramatic fashion jumped out of the vehicle which was sending him to his bosses for the military inquisition.
Currently, Citi News understands the Military high command is on his heels before he attempts to leave the jurisdiction. 26 -year old Bawa Abdul Rahman is 1.7 meters tall.
It is unclear yet how long he had been in touch with ISIS or whether he has already been recruited.
The Public Affairs Directorate of the military has declined to comment on the matter for now. A few months ago, the national security presented a report to the Education Ministry, warning it about activities of ISIS on the various tertiary institutions, recruiting interested candidates.
In 2015, a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and one other, joined ISIS.

I won’t react to little boys and girls attributing me to quotes – Mugabe
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has said he is unperturbed by some funny quotes attributed to him, and making rounds on social media platforms, particularly in Ghana.
The veteran politician has recently become the butt of jokes in the West African country as Whatsapp platforms are awash with facetious assertions purportedly coming from him. The nonagenarian has stressed he will not react to those hilarious comments because he is above that.
Among the popular flippant quotes circulating on Whatsapp platforms include:
“If Ghanaians were smart, they would have moved the Akosombo Dam to Circle,” Mugabe, live on Peace FM.
“Even Satan was not gay, he chose to approach naked Eve instead of naked Adam,” Mugabe.
“And to those of you who do not actually go to church but watch it on TV, you will not actually go to Heaven, but you will be allowed to watch it on TV! – Robert Mugabe
“Simbox fraud two years… goat thief seven years… whatever you want to do in life go to school first,” Robert Mugabe 2016.
The Zimbawean High commissioner to Ghana Mrs. Pavelyn Tenclai Musaka said her 92-year-old president is aware of the fake quotes, but will not respond to those trivial pronouncements.
“I don’t get worried,” Musaka told Accra-based Joy FM. “What actually strikes me is that I get surprised this is actually coming from African journalists. As far as I’m concerned if Africans don’t respect another African head of state, I don’t know who else will respect him.”
She opined: “I will engage the Ghanaian and African media to start respecting their own. Charity begins at home. The leaders in this job are the media and they can correct it.”
Musaka pointed out that Africa’s longest serving president will not “react to little boys and girls” because he is a “statesman.”
However, she mentioned the ZANU–PF leader “is not offended” because he is “above that… He is there to fight giants like the Tony Blairs of this world and not those little boys and girls.”

Kumasi Polytechnic outdoors first of its kind electric car
As technology and innovations continue to soar in other parts of the world, Africa has comparatively been unable to penetrate into the mainstream technological and innovation world.
In a bid to achieve the long awaited dream of the over fifty countries around the continent, one of Ghana’s premier polytechnics Kumasi Polytechnic has paved the way as it has assembled the first of its kind electric car.
Though countries including South Africa, Nigeria and Uganda among others have already stepped into the production of electric vehicles, the innovation of Kumasi Polytechnic has led scores of industry players talking.
Rector of the institution, Professor Nicholas Nsowah Nuamah in an exclusive interview with Kapital News said as Africa is widely known to be the heartbeat of the world, it was incumbent on technical as well as technological institutions across the continent to actualize their creative abilities, thereby participating broadly in the manufacturing of first class goods and products.
